As a summer camp counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers. Your primary responsibilities include supervising campers during activities, leading games and arts and crafts, and fostering positive relationships among campers and staff. You will be expected to provide guidance, support, and encouragement to ensure each camper has a memorable experience. Effective communication skills and a nurturing attitude are essential in this role. Additionally, you may assist in organizing special events and maintaining a safe and clean camp environment. - Facilitate daily camper Bible input: camper devotions, Bible and curriculum studies, night devotions, and memory verses.
- Ensure campers have opportunities to experience a variety of camper activities through appropriate sign-up for daily activities.
- Establish and maintain the routine of the cabin: schedule, clean-up, corrections, devotions, mail delivery, lights out, etc.
- Comply with all camp policies and procedures, including those specific to camper and staff safety.
- Be aware of, and track, campers within the village that have health issues or concerns. Assist both Village Leaders and Health Services with timely delivery of medications and treatment
- Attend all meetings, both departmental and camp-wide.
- Be involved in other camp activities as planned by the Recreation and Ministry Departments, as the schedule allows, mainly after dinner hours.
- Assist in various responsibilities in order to facilitate Sunday camper drop-off and Saturday camper pick-up.
- Fulfill temporary assignments to other duties.
