Camp Echo is a traditional, coed, sleep-away camp located about 90 minutes from New York City. Our unique, child-centered world becomes a home away from home each summer for our campers, ages 6-16, and staff members. The community and friendships we build together through caring and trust last a lifetime.
Our camp is situated in a beautiful natural environment, including a private lake and 200+ acres of fields and wooded trails. Our surroundings provide the perfect setting for trotting horses, rowing boats, hitting balls, riding bikes, discovering trails, painting canvases, roasting marshmallows, and making new best friends. All this just a convenient and comfortable distance from the greater New York City and Philadelphia areas, making arrival/departure effortless for kids and Visiting Day a pleasure for parents!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Get to know each and every child. We take care of our children well, because we know them. Take part in a pre-camp training with our Athletic Director and Camp Directors. Plan and deliver instructional periods that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities.
Facilitate a fun athletic program for campers - the focus of our athletics should always be FUN. We're not focusing on drills or performance. Create fun original session plans that meet camp outcomes and the abilities of all campers aged 7-16. You will focus on your one activity, but may be called upon to help in other areas. (soccer, basketball, baseball, football, handball, hockey, golf, fitness, volleyball, tennis etc). Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment. Conduct daily check of area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair. Maintain the fields/courts equipment, and ask for help if something is needed.
Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, Athletics or otherwise, planning and leading those as assigned. Plan and deliver inter camp tournaments. Coach and manage teams when we compete against other camps. Help deliver fun 'Twilight' activities i.e. Slam Dunk contest, Home Run Derby. You will also be a cabin counselor, living in a bunk, fulfilling all of the responsibilities of a cabin counselor when you are not required to be in athletics. Have a 'What's next?
