Rec Staff - Science Center Instructor

A Science Center Instructor is responsible for leading educational programs and activities that connect campers with the natural world. The instructor will guide outdoor explorations, conduct hands-on activities, and facilitate animal encounters for campers. This role involves caring for animals.

Positional

• Has the patience to be involved with campers and other guests, answering questions, dealing with animal messes, etc.
• Has excellent communication skills and the ability to teach and lead others.
• Is able to handle and care for animals within the Science Center, following all departmental guidelines. Allergens in the Science Center include tree nuts, peanuts, gluten, citrus, and animal dander.
• Able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
• Is able to physically traverse the multi-terrain campground; able to be on one’s feet for long periods of time.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire to be considered for this position.
